Video Poker
Poker is the regular card game played on tables in land casinos or on virtual tables in online casino or virtual poker rooms, while Video Poker is more similar to online casino slot machines, where you have a screen with symbols in which the objective is to hit a winning combination of symbols on a line.
The rules of video poker are very similar to regular 5-card draw poker: you have one or more hands and the objective is to get a poker combination of cards in each hand that will earn you cash. There are many variations, but in general the minimum hand payout is a pair of jacks, and the maximum is of course the Royal Flush, which sometimes comes with a progressive jackpot. In between are, as in regular table poker: Two Pair, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, Four of a Kind, Straight Flush.
You place a bet of one or more (usually 1 to 5) credits on a video poker machine and deal the cards by pressing the Deal button. You can then choose to keep or discard one or more of the cards in exchange for new cards drawn from the deck, after which the video poker game will give you a payout if you have a winning hand. The payout table of winning hands is always displayed on screen.
Some video pokers will let you choose if you want to "double", "double half" or collect each win. Selecting "double" will draw one face up card and allow you to choose one of the other face down cards. If the card you choose is lower than the face up card, you lose your original win. If it's higher, you double it and can again choose to collect your doubled amount, or double again. Choosing "double half" will collect half of your winning and use the other half to double.
You can play Video Poker games at most online casinos, but we recommend the video pokers found in Playtech-powered casinos such as MegaKings.com online casino with video poker.
